The field of science is filled mostly with male scientist like Einstein,Flemming,Franklin,Bell and many more. There is an exception of female scientist in history of science .So in this essay I am talking about the greatest  female scientist ever [For me]Marie Curie....

Born Maria Sklodowska[Marie Curie]  on November 7, 1867, in Warsaw, Poland, Marie Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. Her parents were both teachers, and she was the youngest of five children. She was topper in her secondary school.

Marie Curie Siblings:-
Bronisława Skłodowska,
Zofia Skłodowska,
Helena Skłodowska,
Józef Skłodowski

Her maiden name was Maria Sklodowska. Marie finished high school at 15, with the highest honours. She worked as a private tutor for children in Poland before moving to Paris, France at the age of 24 to study mathematics and physics at the Sorbonne. Henri Becquerel was awarded half of the prize for his discovery of spontaneous radioactivity. Marie and Pierre Curie were awarded half the prize for their research on the radiation phenomena discovered by Becquerel. .  Marie Curie studied the radiation of all compounds containing the known radioactive elements, including uranium and thorium, which she later discovered was also radioactive.  Marie Curie was awarded the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her discoveries and studies of the elements radium and polonium.

Marie and Pierre's  daughter, Irène Joliot-Curie and  her husband was Frédéric Joliot

The field of science is riddled with famous male scientists. There have been loads of women scientists too, but unfortunately mostly forgotten, however one name stands apart from the rest, immortal - Marie Curie.

I admire and respect her from the core of my heart.
Marie Skłodowska-Curie born on 7th November 1934 , was a Polish by birth, but became a French later.

She was the first women to become a "Nobel prize winner " and the also the first and only women to win twice. Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland.

She studied at Warsaw's clandestine Floating university and began her scientific training in Warsaw itself. When she was  24, in 1891, she went to study in Paris, where she earned her higher degrees and started on her own scientific reseach.

She shared the 1903
Nobel Prize in Physics with her husband Pierre Curie and with physicist Henri Becquerel. She won the  Nobel Prize in Chemistry once again in 1911.

The theory of
radioactivity stands as her most famous acheivement. In fact she coined the term " Radioactivity" .Also, techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of  polonium and radium are some other of her acheivements.
She founded the Curie Institutes in Paris and in Warsaw. These are major centres of medical research .

Marie Curie died in 1934, at the age of 66, in  France. This was due to Aplastic anemia caused by exposure to radiation while she was carrying out some  radium related research.

Marie Curie is my idol. I'm a great admirer of her.
