Select-Case was designed to do away with the need to compare one term to many options. For instance here is a series of If-Then statements:
view sourceprint?1If a = 1 Then b = a+12
If a = 2 Then b = a+93
If a = 3 Then b = a+5.
Case = 307 b = a+508 Case = 409 b = a+710 Case = 5, 6, 711 b = a+3..
