The sky becomes red during sunrise and sunset because the sun is very far away from earth so the rays of the sun have to travel a long distance which looks red at sunset/sunrise time.

THE SKY BECOMES RED DURING SUNRISE AND SUNSET BECAUSE SUN RAYS HAVE TO TRAVEL MORE AND IT IS NEAR TO THE HORIZON.SO AT THAT TIME BLUE LIGHT IS MORE SCATTERED AND THE REMAINING LEAST SCATTERED  SUN RAYS IS ALSO PRESENT . BECAUSE OF THIS SKY APPEARS RED .
