BMI = body mass index = Weight in Kg / (Height in meters)²

This is the usual  BMI followed universally.   This is for adults.. of course not for too old persons or  pregnant women or kids.

In general it is said that  BMI  is between 18 and 23 for healthy  normal  adults.
If it is more than 25 to 29, then the person is  overweight...fat..
if the index is more than 30 then the person is obese...

this is the same rule followed in India too...
