I have a daily life example for your question :-

When people go to a mountain whose altitude is much higher than that of ground, they say that they are feeling a shortage of oxygen(or air) or say that they are unable to breathe.
It is because, the gravity on higher altitudes is less effective so the air is not present in that much amount as on the ground. This is all due to effect of gravity.
