In the displacement time graph, the time is taken on x axis and the displacement of body is taken on y axis. From this we can determine the velocity of body.
Since velocity is the ratio of displacement and time, therefore the slope of displacement - time graph gives the velocity.If the slope is positive, it implies that the body is moving away from the starting point, but if the slope is negative, the body is returning towards the starting.
There are many types :-
1. Displacement - time graph of a stationary object
2. Displacement - time graph with a uniform velocity
3. Displacement - time graph with positive and negative slopes
4. Displacement - time graph with a variable veocity
