      the harry potter and the goblet of fire is the fourth book of seven books in the harry potter series written by british author J.K Rowling. the story revolves around harry potter, a fourth year student of hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry and the the question of how harry potter's name got into the goblet of fire. the goblet of fire is a magical object that selects students of three wizarding school, Hogwarts, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, for a tournament called "the triwizard tournament".
    in the triwizard tournament happening in the story, the goblet choses Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons, Victor krum of durmstrang, cedric diggory and harry potter of hogwarts. as the triwizard tournament consists of only 3 contestants, everyone is shocked and surprised as the goblet gives out the name of harry potter. harry himself is shocked how his name came into the goblet, as the goblet chooses the  contestants only from the names given by the contestants themselves in it.the story revolves around how harry performs in the tasks given, wether he emerges as the champion or not and who put his name in the goblet of fire. 
    the story also says about the yule ball, the gossipy reporter rita skeeter,the return of you-know-who(Lord Voldemort) and a lot more. harry also witnesses the death of one of his schoolmates.
   you cannot say harry potter is a fantasy book. it is a mix of genres including comedy, mystery, romance, etc. 
   it is a book not just for kids, but for people of all ages. a very nice book with an excellent film adaptation.
