(3x+10)/(5x+10)= 5/7
⇒21x+70=25x+50
⇒4x=20

Given the ratio of two numbers = 3:5
let the numbers be 3x and 5x
the numbers increased by 10 = 3x+10   and 5x+10
the ratio is given as 5:7
Therefore 3x+10 : 5x+10 = 5 : 7
Product of means = Product of extremes
7(3x+10) = 5(5x+10)
21x +70 = 25x+50
70-10 = 25x- 21x
20 = 4x
4x = 20
x = 20/4
Therefore x = 5
The numbers are
3x = 3×5 = 15
5x = 5×5 = 25.
