Child obesity, particularly in urban areas is on the rise and I think there are two major reasons for it.

(1)    Junk food: Junk food is high in fat and carbohydrate, and such food also lacks essential nutrients and vitamins required by our body. It has become routine for many children in urban areas to kill their hunger with such type of food.

(2)     Lack of exercise: School going children also do not get enough time for physical activity. Without sufficient physical exercise, the excess calories received from junk food remain in the body and child become obese.
