We know the equation of circle is of the form ( x - k ) ^2 + ( y - h ) ^ 2 = R^2 So lets bring the given equation to that form . The given equation : x^ 2 + y^2 -12x + 4y + 6 = 0 x^2 + 36 - 12x + y^2 + 4 + 4y + 6 = 36 + 4 ( Add 36 & 4 to both sides ) ( x - 6 )^2 + ( y + 2 )^2 = 36 + 4 -6 ( complete sqaure and bring the 6 from LHS to RHS (x-6)^2+(y+2)^2 = 34 = (sqrt 34)^2 So the circle is centred at 6 , -2 & its radius is ( sqrt 34 )
