Pre-harvest protection :-
 -  method to control and protect from weeds ( unwanted plant in the cultivated field which reduces the growth of crop by taking nutritions , light , spaces , etc. ) , insects( damages the crop )  and  pathogens(microbes which affects the plant ) were this are protected by different methods like cutting the plant , herbicides , mixed cropping , physical removal , fungicides , resistant varieties , summer ploughing , etc .


post-harvest protection :-
 - methods to protect from biotic and abiotic factors during storage by diffrent methods like cleaning of produce before storage , drying of produce to reduce moisture , fumigation  and cold facilities .
