1.   11 men can dig 6 \frac{3}{4}    m long trench in one day. How many men should be employed for digging 27m long trench of the same type in one day?

Ans.
We have to solve it by unitary method, then
  11 men dig a trench of 27/4 m
27/4 m trench is dug by 11 men
        1 m trench is dug by 11/27/4=11
×27/4 men
     27 m trench is dug by 11× \frac{4}{27} ×27=11×4=44
    44 men can dig a trench of 27 m on a day.
