A dividend is the number you have beforehand.A divisor is the number doing the dividing, just like an advisor is the one doing the advising.The only number anyone ever wants to quote is the answer, or quotient.What remains after you finish dividing is the remainder.

Division in Vedic Mathematics, based on Specific and Any Numbers, can be classified in following types:

Nikhilam:  Nihilam Sutra is a specific method of Division in Vedic Mathematics which shows trick to divide numbers when Divisor is closer to power of 10 BUT less than that of it.
Paravartya :  Paravartya Sutra is a specific method of Division in Vedic Mathematics which shows trick to divide numbers when Divisor is closer to power of 10 BUT greater than that of it.

Anurupyena: Anurupyena Sutra is a specific method of division in Vedic Mathematics which shows how to divide numbers when Nikhilam and Paravartya are not applicable.
Vinculum: Vinculum is speical type of Division which can be used, like that for multiplication, with other sutras of Division whenever we have bigger digits like 6,7,8 and 9.
Direct Division: Direct Division (Flag Method) is a general method of Division in Vedic Mathematics shows shortcut to divide any types of numbers.
