Perimeter of square 1 which is smaller = 4x
perimeter of square 2 which is bigger   = (2x+1)4
perimeter of both square = 4(2x+1+x) = 100
                                                    3x+1 = 25
3x = 24
x= 8  now area of bigger square =  (2X+1)² =  (2*8+1)²=17²=280 cm^2
