 A spectrum is formed when a polychromatic light falls on a prism because the light splits into its constituent colours or constituent different frequencies.

A monochromatic has just one frequency(or the same frequency ) so it does not form a spectrum.

NOTE: There might be some scattering of the light if the glass is translucent(not absolutely transparent) but it will DEFINITELY NOT FORM A SPECTRUM
