The correct answer is B.. because the medium surrounding the cell is  hypotonic in nature relative to the cell's cytoplasm and here the cell membrane is working as a semi permeable membrane.So in this situation water from the surrounding's hypotonic solution (lower conc. of solute in water) is forced to enter the cell through the cell membrane due to the process of osmosis and cause the cell to swell..hope this helps
