No, it's not a very good idea. Iron is more reactive than copper and the iron will displaces the copper out of its compound. 

The reactions is: Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) = FeSO4(aq) + Cu(s) 

You could end up with a copper plated container of iron sulfate.
