Give reasons for the following> element carbon forms compounds mainlu by co-valent bounding diamond has a high melting point graphite is a good conductor of electricity acetylene burns with a sooty flame kerosene does not decolourise bromine water while cooking oils do

What do u wanna to ask

1. carbon forms compounds mainly by covalent bonding because it form compounds by sharing of electrons cause it neither gains or loose electrons.
2. graphite is good conductors of electricity as free electrons are present in it.
3.acetylene burns with sooty flame as it's an unsaturated hydrocarbon.
4. kerosene is a saturated hydrocarbon whereas cooking oil is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.. therefore unsaturated hydrocarbons decolorise bromine water whereas saturated hydrocarbon does not decolorises bromine water.
