LGP gas is a example of saturated hydrocarbon and as we know that saturated hydrocarbon burns properly without leaving any residue as proper amount of oxygen is supplied to it whereas when we burn wood it is not a saturated hydrocarbon so it burns with a sooty flame and residue is left behind and even the proper amount of oxygen is not supplied.
