It is given that A is a sweet smelling compound. Therefore, it is surely an ester.

Next it is said that A on hydrolysis gives B and C.

Therefore, among B and C, one is carboxylic acid and the other is alcohol.

Now on oxidation of B, we get C. Therefore, B is alcohol and C is acid.
Also, the number of Carbon in B and C are same.

As in the above reactions the no. of Carbon doesn't change and B and C get equal no. of Carbons. Therefore, B gets 2 carbon and C gets 2 carbon.

Therefore, B is CH_3CH_2OH and C is CH_3COOH .

And A is mixing compound of this two i.e., CH_3COOCH_2CH_3 .
