Platypuses are really an animal who doesn't fit completely in reptile group or mammal group, but it is considered as a mammal as it has hair all over it's body, and has organs to feed young ones too. It also has good control over temperature so it can be called warm - blooded. And they're one characteristic  is that it do not lay eggs that's why it does not seem more like a reptile, it gives birth. So a mammal.
