Neuron/Nerve cell is the functional unit of our nervous system.
Neuron consists of the following parts:
*Nucleus - present in the centre of the cell body.
*Cell body - surrounding region of nucleus.
*Dendrites - brush like structures lining the cell body.
*Axons - the extended part of the cell body.
*Mylein sheath - sheath which covers axons.
*Nerve endings are present at the end of axons.
  • Brainly User
Neurons are the basic functional units of the nervous system. They have a number of different structures which distinguish them from any other cell in the body:The functional unit of the nervous system is the interconnected system of brain and nerves. The nerves collect data and transmit it to the brain. The brain, both the conscious and unconscious systems, sends messages back to the body.
