Plaster of paris is caso4.1/2h20... it gains moistue to become gypsum with the formula caso4.2h20 which sets to a hard mass....hence it should be stored in moisture proof container

Plaster of Paris should be stored in a moisture-proof container.
Because plaster of paris is a hemi hydrated calcium sulphate.
It readily hydrates with water to form gypsum.
so it  is stored in moisture proof container.
