The Leaf would be stained differently because of the starch content in the leaf. We know that the starch would not be stored in all the parts of the leaf. The starch would be stored only in some parts of the leave. So when the leaf is stained with iodine the parts where the starch is present that part would turn to blue black color and other would remain same. Therefore the leaf is stained differently when iodine is used to stain it.
