An ideal contraceptive method should - be user friendly - be easily available - be effective and reversible with no or less side effects - not affect the sexual life of the user. Removal of gonads is not a reversible process. Moreover, the sexual life of the person is affected on removing the gonads as the sex hormones produced by the gonads are no more available. Hence, removal of gonads is not considered as an ideal contraceptive option.
