Kabuliwala is a short story about an Afghan man, Rehmat, and his friendship with Mini, the writer's daughter.
Rehmat was from Afghanistan and he migrated to India to sell his wares to support the family he left behind. He met Mini and because she reminds him of his daughter, he felt a connection with her.
Mini's mother does not like the growing friendship between Rehmat and Mini because she believed that Rehmat is a kidnapper. However, Mini's father does not share this misgivings. In fact, he encouraged them to develop their friendship.
