Before Independence, the British demanded Indians to pay a lot of taxes, even for salt. The Britishers did not allow Indians to enter public places like parks, etc where only the British was allowed. They killed the lives of many common people, one of them is the Jallianwala Bagh incident. They did not allow the Indians to hoist their flag. They killed people who assassinated Britisher officers which was unfair because the Britishers killed Indians but Indians could not kill them. Hence, all the bills and actions made were against Indians but for Britishers.
