Chandrayaan-1, is India's first mission to the moon launched by India's national space agency the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It successfully reached the lunar surface at 20:31 hrs on November 14, 2008. It entered in a low orbit around the Moon. It weighs 1304 kg at launch and 590kg in lunar orbit. With the launch of the mission, India joined a select band of countries who have undertaken lunar missions by launching the first unmanned mission to the Moon.The MIP impacted Shackleton Crater, of the lunar south pole, on 14 November 2008 releasing subsurface debris that could be analyzed for presence of water ice. It was a moment of success for Indians. We got many information and felt proud to be an Indian.
