Viruses are inert outside the host cell because there are no nutrients that are essential to virus. but where as in host cell there sre plenty of nutrients and all essentials for the growth and reproduction of virus

The viruses are non-living organisms.they do not contain any cell in their body organisation.viruses lack any membrane and hence do not show characteristics of life until they enter a living body to use its cells to reproduce.
