Chlorine in HCl is more electronegative than HClO3
2 4 2
can u give the reason - in terms of oxidation state or valency electron or bonds etc..
or size
Lower the oxidation number, higher is the electronegativity. As, the oxidation no. of Cl in HCl (+1) is lower than that of Cl in HClO₃ (+5), Cl in HCl is more electronegative than the Cl in HClO₃.

You're welcome ! :)
