Hotspots of the Biodiversity are the geographical areas having wide variety of species diversity(that threatened with extinction). For a geographical region to be a hotspot, it must contain 1500 species of vascular plants as endemics and must have lost 70% of its original habitat. Species richness, Endemism and threat of extinction are the factors that determine Hotspots. 34 biodiversity hotspots have been identified.
