It is off the South-Eastern coast of Tamil Nadu and off the Northern Western coast of Sri Lanka... Its an accumulation of limestone shoals ,betwenn the Pamban island.

 It is also known Adam's Bridge  or  Rama's Bridge or  Rama Setu is between Pamban (Rameswaram island)  of the southeastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island, of the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka. The bridge is 30 kilometres  long and separates the Gulf of Mannar (southwest) from the Palk Strait (northeast). Ii is a chain of lime shoals( a shallow place in the water body).
