to find document files you can find by the use of search box in which you type the name of the document or .docs , .txt , etc .
or , 
if you created that file last week you can use the following steps : -
   - open my computer
   - open recent places 
    - click on date modified choose your date that you created document 
    - then you will see that all files and data are given in that dialogue box in which you also see that document you created .

to coping a file to another folder follow the given steps :-
   - right click on your file and click on copy 
   - chose your location you want to copy and right click there then click on paste .
