Ans. One of the main objectives of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is to understand the present climate of the Mars. Scientists think that the climate on Mars 3.5 billion years ago was similar to that of early Earth : warm and wet. But due to chemical reactions, it changed drastically and today it is very inhospitable for humans. A better understanding of Mar’s climate will help scientists more effectively model its past climate and how the planet changes over millions of years. This will certainly address the concerns of our environment.
