In the late 18th century and the early and the early 20th century, the East India Company restricted the Indians for manufacturing goods and forced them to buy foreign goods. As a fact, Indians too thought the buying British goods were preferable.
The British took the raw materials for India for Rs. 10(suppose), took it to their ccountry and brought back finished goods in India, selling them at Rs. 60, making a loage profit. Yet they were bought by ht Indians because the indigenous good were very costly and time-taking. The same thing was bought for Rs. 200 if manufactured in India
